It’s been 5 years since Lynne released her first recording and so
much has happened in her life. . This new project titled “Outside
The Lines”, is an overview of all the musical influences passed
on by Lynne’s Mother and other musical family members as well as lifelong
associations with many musical friends.
Lynne wishes to thank all the people who have made this recording
and other projects possible. There are too many people involved to name
all so we will save that for Lynne’s book. Lynne quotes “singing
is not about making money”, {although we all need some to do the necessary
things in life}, it’s about making friends. It’s not about making contacts,
it’s about reaching people, maybe touching their hearts with something
familiar… something they can relate to.
Lynne would like to thank all her friends and fans for hanging in, thanks
for supporting a lil’ ol’ country gal’s dreams. It’s been a long time
coming but she hopes you find something on this new CD that brings you
closer to the important people in your life…including yourself.”
Personal Note of Heartfelt Thanks:My life
would have gone in a totally different direction without the reliable
loving support and honest heartfelt guidance of my musical family,
Don Randell {my drummer since I was 15 years old} and Loran
Varner {my keyboard player of 28 years}. My whole band Evergreen
is in it’s 25th year and Steven Stoddart bass
player, lead guitar, drums, and all around great guy to have around
has been a solid support and loyal friend for many years. Paul Moulaison
, lead guitar in the group has been a wealth of musical information
and a friend through thick and thin. He is the person who introduced
me to The Rainbow Ranch Boys, Kayton Roberts and Roger Carroll and we
all remain good friends, playing music together whenever we are all
in the same country. Many people have come and gone from our band over
the years and each one has left a memory of good music with lessons
learned from their shared musical experiences. One very important person
that was with Evergreen in the beginning is Irvin Surette, and
we all still miss his presence on the stage.
Thanks to my producer Tim Feswick for giving me the courage to
color OUTSIDE THE LINES. to Dream outside the lines,
and to express myself as a versatile musician. My Mother would have
loved you. She exposed us to many different kinds of music and that’s
why this CD is so important to me. You captured the feeling that up
to now was only a sound in my head. Thank you for letting me be me.
All the musicians who are fortunate enough to have worked with you in
your studio would echo my sentiments {you breath new life into every
recording you produce}. We are so lucky you landed in our neck of the
woods. You have definitely helped put us on the map. Your talent and
conscientious productions set you apart from the ordinary studio and
make the whole recording experience, unforgettable. Thank you my friend.
“ Special thanks to The Rainbow Ranch Boys for taking the time
to lay the tracks for Down The Trail Of Achin’ Hearts and My Nova Scotia
Home. There are no words to express my sincere gratitude to you for
giving me your support and encouragement over the past 3 years. Your
friendship is my reward …To all my musical family, relative and extended,
what can I say… you lift me up, encourage and support me, and most
of all you share your lives with me. Thank you for your love.
Thanks to Sylvia Tyson for letting me use your song “River Road”.
You can never know how much this song means to me and all the rest of
the folks that live and have lived on or near the River Road in Barrington
N.S.
Donna LeBlanc Messenger, your words for the “Song Of The Causeway”
puts you in the class of a talented lyricist. Thanks for sharing your
talent with me. Greg Nickerson, thanks for the bases of the
melody for this song. I have expanded on your ideas and I am so glad
we share credits in the music of this song. Your input with the whole
project has been a great help. Thanks buddy!!! ….Life long friend, neighbor,
and fellow musician, April Scott, thanks for letting me do the
lead vocal for “Canada Oh Canada” and for letting me put it on this
CD. You Rock “Girl” and {I am in your corner.}
Pat Malanson, you brought my Scottish ballad{Just Around The
Corner} to life with your Highland Bagpipes and you transport me to
the hills of Scotland in my heart. Thank you for your interest and encouragement.
Thanks to the men’s choir “Sound of Men” for adding your special
touch to this song.
Thanks to my good friend , Ron Jenkins for adding
that wonderful sound to my Scottish song on your STAND -UP BASS.
I always enjoy working with you.
To Lee, my Companion of 12 years, I could not have done
any of this without you. Thanks for all the gear lugging, meal cooking,
dog sitting, trailer pulling, late night warm home comings after a late
show. Special thanks for our little getaway in the woods that give solace
to so many of our friends and family. Thank you for sharing my love
of family and friends, my passion for my music, my love of dogs, big
and small,{ours, and all the rescues I’ve carried home}. The home we
have built together and the bond we have is the foundation for all I
do personally and professionally. Thank you, from my heart to yours.
To Jeanene, my Precious Daughter, this journey we have
been on is about to take a very important turn. I am ready. My heart
is ready. You have been my purpose for pushing forward and not looking
back. Your support and devotion to me has given me strength when I felt
weak and inspiration when I felt uncreative. We’ve come a long way.
Thank you for always being there to share all of life’s gifts. I love
you My Angel Girl.
Sometimes the right words escape me, this is one of those times. Words
of thanks to my Brother, Sherod, can’t begin to express what
is in my heart. Life is good and you are so much a part of why I feel
this way. We share music that comes from our Motherand other
ancestors, a love of nature from our Father and a personal understanding
and pride shared for the diversity and immeasurable talents of our whole
family. Our Sister, Brother, Companions, Wives, Children and Grandchildren.
We are so Blessed. Thank you for reminding me that just being myself
is O.K. Thanks for hearing the same melody, for dancing to the same
fiddler and for teaching me to expect expect “What You Least Expect
Most”. Thanks for reminding me that our Daddy used that phrase often.
Most of the time it makes more sense than anything else in this life.
Most importantly, thanks for sharing your music and your life
with me. I Love You Bro
To the little girls 7 ½ year old Carissa and 7 year old Tianna
Williams, from Russia, who inspired the song Chosen Child’s Lullaby,
thank you for your art work on the cover of this CD. When my
first recording was launched in Sept. of 1999, Carissa and her
little sister Tianna, , ages 2 ½ and 2 years old, were there
along with their new Mommy and Daddy, Janet and Ernie Williams,
lifelong friends of mine. Each table was covered with a white paper
tablecloth. Janet wisely added a box of crayons to her little {Mommy’s
Bag of Tricks} and the children along with all the rest of the people
sitting at that table, drew pictures and signed their names.
Now for those of you who know me, it has been said I am somewhat of
a packrat but this little keep sake turned out to be the perfect picture
for my cover. The talents of these children grows everyday, they both
take music lessons and Tianna is becoming quite an artist. Thank you
girls, Love Lynne Lynne {that’s what Carissa started calling
me in her early attempts at our language, and it stuck.}
There is one more credit that I must list and this is the most important
one.
Thanks to the Creator for all my blessings. I have always felt that
my strong desire to sing was given to me for a reason. I may never know
exactly what that purpose is but one thing I know for sure, I don’t
take one minute of all I do for granted. Whatever I am able to do with
my voice is compliments of a greater power. I am merely a messenger.
I will continue to do what I love to do …..sing!!!!!
