New release featuring tracks with The Rainbow Ranch Boys

August 2004, Life continues for South Shore Recording artist.

Throughout spring and summer 1999, Lynne performed and promoted her new album {I Don’t Mind The Rain} backed by local musicians and friends in music. During July and August Lynne entertained visitors to the Barrington area at the Information Center every Wednesday at the Warden’s Tea. In early August Lynne performed at several functions during the 50th anniversary of the Cape Sable Island Causeway. In late August Lynne also took part in the Hank Snow Country Music Tribute as well as the Port George Country Music Jamboree, Hibernia Guides Association Sports Meet and many local fund-raisers and variety shows. On September 17th, 1999, Lynne’s recording was officially launched at the Barrington Lion’s Club. The event was hosted by local senior’s clubs and attended by over 200 people. Each song was introduced and it’s origin related. One song, “Chosen Child’s Lullaby”, was a special treat for everyone that evening. Carissa the child the song was written for and her new sister Tianna played on the stage while Lynne sang to the audience. These two children were adopted from Russia by friends of Lynne’s.

Following the launch that evening a 20th anniversary dance for the seniors took place and nineteen musicians including Lynne’s daughter Jeanene took to the stage to play familiar songs past and present and join Lynne in the celebration.

In early October the 50-Plus Celebration and trade show in Yarmouth presented Lynne and her music, promoting her as a Nova Scotia singer, songwriter and recording artist.

Lynne was approached by Ann Langille from the South Shore Tourism Association to compose a song for the International Lighthouse Conference being held in May of 2000. Over the winter between already scheduled shows and promotions, Lynne worked on lyrics for her Lighthouse song. Early in 2000, Lynne requested the help of co-writer Robert Mundell and between the two of them they came up with the lyrics for “The Lighthouse Route”. Lynne composed the music and along with another co-written composition went to the studio of Tim Feswick’s Productions, Shelburne, Nova Scotia early in March and recorded the CD entitled “I am Nova Scotia”. This project was completed, packaged and ready for sale at the International Lighthouse Conference held at White Point Beach resort, May 29 to June 2, 2000. After the release on May 13, 2000, Lynne’s schedule became completely filled promoting her new songs and volunteering her time to Nova Scotia tourism. Among the many events leading up to the completion of this brief, Lynne attended all the variety shows surrounding the Lights Along the Shore festival in Shelburne County and took part in the Nautical Concert in the Astor Theatre in Liverpool. During the week of the festival celebrations Lynne sang on Breakfast Television. Also, she coordinated and produced the variety show hosted by Sandspit Art council during the Lobster Festival. Since then, Lynne has volunteered her time with the Yarmouth County Tourism Association entertaining visitors to the Yarmouth area via the CAT and the Scotia Prince ferries. Harbour tours and several trips to Bar Harbor were planned for late June through to September promoting her music and Nova Scotia. Through July and August Lynne entertained at the Warden’s Teas at the Barrington Information Center, for her eighth season volunteering her time at this venue.

Lynne was busy in 2001 and 2002. In August 2001 Lynne released her fourth recording project titled “Country Request.” This recording of classic country selections went on sale at the annual Hank Snow Tribute in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. Hank Snow’s band members were on hand for this year’s tribute. The Rainbow Ranch Boys, Roger Carroll and Kayton Roberts invited Lynne and her guitar picking friend Paul Moulaison to join them on ASN morning show “Breakfast Television”. They also backed. Lynne during her portion of the Hank Snow Tribute show. The initial long distance phone friendship grew and Kayton insisted they go to the studio and lay a few tracks. This unexpected adventure was approved by Lynne’s friend and producer Tim Feswick and on Monday morning the bed tracks for My Nova Home and Down The Trail Of Achin’ Hearts were laid, live to tape.

The local newspaper The Coast Guard covered this day at the studio and everyone had a good time.

Over the next few months Lynne worked on finishing those two songs and a few more. Throughout the remainder of the year Lynne continued to perform around Nova Scotia. She hosted several variety concerts in her area and carried on the tradition of entertaining the local seniors at their dances held at the Barrington Lions Hall on the third Friday of every month.

Lynne’s Daughter Jeanene recorded a couple of songs she wrote, inspired by strong family ties to the U.S. called 50 = 1, and Independence Day. Lynne along with friend and neighbour April Scott, helped put the project together, laying tracks at Tim Feswick’s studio in Shelburne N.S. early in the year 2001. The CD sampler was released in Canada and the US. before the world shaking 9-11, 2001 tragedy in the US and their family ties and feeling for their neighbours took on a whole new meaning.

Lynne continues to encourage Jeanene to reach for her dreams , whatever they are. Early summer 2001 Lynne recorded a single written by April Scott titled “Canada Oh Canada.” April received a lot of attention over her song and this created a lot of spin-offs for Lynne’s career also.

Throughout 2002 Lynne performed at local shows and traveled all over Nova Scotia during the summer and fall appearing in as many musical festivals and concerts as time would allow.

Early in 2003 Lynne and producer Tim Feswick started putting finishing touches on the songs already recorded, preparing for another CD that will hopefully be released later this year. As time would not allow the completion of a new CD in 2003 the project was put on hold till the summer of 2004.
